I find it funny how Delta Touch runs Doom 3 at 60fps but this mod runs horrible.

that's not weird at all, Doom 3 is 21 years old, and back then the pc could only handle a few dynamic lights overlapping in one scene, while GzDoom and Doom III can have several hundred dynamic lights all running at once. But if set up right the delta touch can still run it good. Just check out: Youtube.com

This is probably my most hated Doom mod I have ever played.
I gave up on Map 4 because I honestly cannot take it anymore. These levels suck. They look pretty, but they suck, a LOT. It ammo starves you. It basically gives you, no ******* ammo at all. You can't kill anything. There are moments where you literally just have to run past and avoid enemies, or you're forced to make them in-fight each other, because the mod creator HATES giving you ammo.
Ammo starvation feels like **** to play. This is one of the worst forms of level balancing EVER. If you want to make a hard level, make the layout of the level more difficult. Utilize enemies more aggressively, put them in harder spots to deal with.
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DON'T AMMO STARVE AS A FORM OF DIFFICULTY.
Also, there are so many playable characters to choose from, and yet none of them have their own custom weapons AT ALL. Female characters have a knife instead of using their fists, but that's it. None of the characters get any new weapons at all, so there's basically no reason to play any of them except classic Doomguy.
This mod visually looks pretty, but it's extremely disappointing in the gameplay department. I have NEVER hated a Doom mod this much before. Playing it is a miserable experience
3 out of 10. Just feels plain horrible to play.

Hi Zoofyooo thanks for the feedback, sad to hear you didn't enjoy it from ammo balance. Which difficulty did you chose to play? A lot of balancing has been done to make sure all play styles can have fun in Doom III, and yes, you will have less ammo when you play on harder difficulties, since some players enjoy to have a game-experience where they have to utilize infighting and ammo management - and for those, the harder difficulties are there. If you play on the easier difficulties, you will be getting more ammo, as well as getting the better weapons earlier - you will get the same monster amount and types on pretty much all difficulties. This is a change made to Doom III to allow for players who also like the challenge with regards of ammo management.
This does mean that if you struggle with ammo, and you are likely playing at a too high difficulty - then you should go down to something like 'I'm Too Young To Die' - and you will still meet all the same monsters, but you will have more ammo and weapons.
The 'Info page' on the main menu tries to explain this, as well as the new GUI of the skill menu explaining this as best as I can. It is also why the skill menu defaults to 'I'm Too Young To Die' - this is the baseline to start playing at.
If you should want to give it another try I would recommend doing so on one of the 3 first easiest difficulties - like said, this will not make the mod 'easy mode' like in original Doom - it will give you more ammo and weapons to play with.

No, I will not play Too Young To Die.
The difficulties modify things like enemy damage. I play on Ultra Violence. I play everything on Ultra Violence. It's how I like to play Doom. I refused to turn off Ultra Violence even when Eternal's Tag 1 DLC made me feel like I was going insane from how hard it is.
This mod is different. The game isn't hard because you made the levels hard, or utilized the enemies in clever ways, it's hard because you don't give the player enough ammo. I'm not going to fall back on the easiest difficulty available, because you failed to design levels properly, failed to give the player enough ammo to handle the demons. You can't throw like 40 pinky demons at the player in one room and give them barely any ammo to work with at all, I don't even have an SSG yet or a backpack and I'm not going to run around for an hour punching them all to death.
I stand by my opinion that your mod is garbage and it's an insult to not just me, but to every player to tell them "just lower the difficulty" as some sort of justification for not improving your *** level design.

Then the problem is honestly that you refuse to change the level you play at, just because you are used to playing Ultra-Violence in original Doom. I enjoy playing the mod at Ultra Violence, and gets to kill all the monsters, because it fits my playstyle. Some like a survival approach, and some likes to run and gun - which is why Doom III was made with a changed difficulty setup to be easier tailored to the playstyle and difficulty you like. This means that U-V in Doom III isn't what you're used to it being in Doom..
If you want to ensure monster health and damage is consistent with Doom the way you're used to, then Hurt Me Plenty is the way to go - here monsters do 100% damage and has 100% health. This mode will also give you the better weapons earlier compared to Ultra-Violence, which will ensure you will have an easier time with ammo. (getting the SSG on Map3 for instance helps a lot with ammo since it deals the damage of 3 shells using only 2).
I thank you for the feedback, but 'I refuse to play a difficulty that isn't named Ultra-Violence' isn't really a great approach.

No, the problem is honestly that you refuse to learn proper level design and balancing and you cower behind "just lower the difficulty" as your only line of defense against criticism, which you've shown you don't understand how to handle.
I don't know what it is with you people, people who make mods and people who make fan games, but your ego is off the ******* charts, and why? Because you did something that not everyone is talented enough to do, so that puts you on a pedestal above everyone else, and that suddenly exempts you from criticism?
Yeah, you can reply respectfully, being all like "thank you for your feedback", but it's all ********, all of it. You don't care. All you care about is your public image, while not ACTUALLY listening to any feedback that isn't positive.
You don't seem to understand that I SHOULD NOT HAVE to lower the difficulty. Like I stated previously, that is an insult to not just me, but to everyone. Difficulty modifies more than ammo values, it modifies damage as well. I am not a bad enough player that I need to make the enemies deal only 0.75% of their normal damage, I have been playing Doom for years.
Telling people to play on easier difficulty is not an answer to poor level design. Just give the player more ammo, Jesus Christ. I don't even understand why I bother arguing. You people never listen, ever. Waste of my damn time.
If the difficulty controlled ONLY ammo values, we wouldn't be having this discussion. But you decided that it should have an affect on damage values too, and then the game becomes a boring pile of slop because the enemies basically can't kill me.

Really, I do take your feedback seriously, or I would not care to write long replies. I agree that it would be great if one could go with more ammo, without also getting weaker enemies, but I do want to maintain difficulties where ammo is sparse (like harder modes today) while also having difficulties where ammo is plentyfull - and there are good and bad players in both camps...
I will look at how I might make for a better setup of this, and do some testing. And if I get to something I think will be better for more players, then I'll make a new version that changes the current difficulty balance with regards of ammo / monster health.
If you have any more you'd like to share it'd be great to do so on the Doom III Discord's Feedback room, as it's easier for me to keep track there than on the various comment boards.

Fine, whatever. If you mean it then you mean it, but I need to see it to believe you're telling the truth. Maybe one day the mod will be improved in a way that makes me feel happier and more comfortable playing it.
But for right now, the mod made me angery so it is physically impossible for me to be nice to you

Honestly this isn't the first mod to stick to idea of drifting the difficulty significantly up or down, there's quite some, you can still adapt to it with difficulty change so it's not critical.

version 1.0e is out, which makes some changes to the difficulty system. It now divides into 4 normal modes and 4 survival modes - and now have 4 difficulties with normal monster health and damage compared to 1 before. So it should be a lot easier now to play 'normal' mode and chose how hard you want it to be on the ammo, without changing the monsters. Hope this helps. In the new system I recommend trying out [I'm too young to die] - this is the normal game mode, with normal difficulty.
